Have to deal with many customers of the Bank. Learned dealing with varied customer needs. Excellent Management. Workplace culture is average. Dealing with difficult customers is the hardest part of the job.
very slow, too many rudimentary processes and lots can be changed, but a huge Bank that still manages somehow to work with certain amount of efficiency. Slow in - terms of adoption of latest technology
Timings are rigid. HR is not supportive and rude. Management make you feel inferior. Power Politics in full swing. Big Brand with Small Value for employees. Not Recommended. Think twice before joining.
Positives : Well established organisation that has a deep history and enduring process flow. Brand image is reputed and penetration in market is absolute. The level of knowledge of its HR is a benchmark as per industry norms and it has been integrating its work force to new generation technological challenges.
Negatives : Though the organisation is one of the most leading banks in India, it lacks drive to instigate a cultural and behavioural change that would translate the organisation to be one of the leading banks on global arena. The centre driven organisation has too many bottlenecks that hinder growth and create an environment of cognitive criticism. Over standardisation of process flow makes the place dull to work in.
Good Salary, perks and other benefits.
Extended working hours due to over standardised and delicacy of work flow
Had my own cabin, the best part of that work. Got to learn the workings of a bank and had access to all the documents they possess. Interaction with clients and staff was the daily requirement. The most enjoyment I had to work with them was when there was a party for someone new joining in or someone getting a promotion.
The job gives you a great learning curve but you have to ready for immense work pressure. Usually there is long working hours with occasional cancelled holidays. But the bank hosts the brightest brains in Credit and forex, so you may have a great opportunity to learn stuff
SBI is a global bank and the biggest lender of India. The management of the organization is highly intelligible and appreciated. They provide the motivation to their juniors for continuously improving their work.
Good place to learn. Organisation provided me with wide ranging opportunities to work in varied fields of banking apart from class room and on the job trainings. Provided opportunities to work at different places as well including overseas posting which helped in widening of my horizon. The responsibilities are highly demanding as the bank has been making efforts to compete with best peers in the industry.
Job Security and good Status
Very poor compensation package not in commensurate with the responsibilities
Feel a sense of purpose and achievement. Senior management very welcoming of new ideas. Opportunity to explore and excel is literally limitless. At SBI you have an opportunity to make an impact at a very large scale - not only on the organization, but on the Nation's economy as a whole
State run organization, has its own set of bureaucratic rules
Work culture at Mumbai and Aurangabad was different though it is same organisation. I have been moulded, shaped up while dealing with challenging situations. Overall pretty good learning experience. It has nurtured my dreams and helped to realise it .
Working with SBI was a learning experience and also the management is also very good. The company was open for any feedback even from the lower level management. The hardest part was achieving targets. But I enjoyed a lot working here.
