I was working at the biggest branch of Standard Chartered Bank, so the rush of the customers was a lot. starting from the morning till the closing time. Considering the client flow in the branch our targets to achieve at daily basis were too high, and we needed to perform our 100% to achieve them. But the team work was there and the managers were helpful so at the end of the day you go come exhausted but satisfied and with completed targets.
The good things
Good for graduates who can work 10-12 hours a day like a machine.
Horrible work culture, they treat employees like money making machine. Complete disregard of human feelings. Nothing is important for them than their margin and big fat bonus for the partners and directors
top-level management is unaware of what is going in their area. We need to keep on followup with multiple sources for getting the confirmations that are prolonged. No appreciation for the hard work and manager reward their followers.
If you enjoy working in a process oriented, compliance driven competitive environment, Standard Chartered can be a place to work. The work culture is quite balanced with enough and more opportunities to challenge you and stretch your skills.
Initial days at the job might seem too much but give it time to sink in for the journey thereon would be a great learning experience.
The culture is highly collaborative with an equal weight given to individual performances and contributions.
The bank is a MNC and as such there is huge scope of learning and development that an employee can do. The bank also encourages learning and regular hackathons are conducted for developers. The work pace is slow and work life balance is excellent. Access to various tools are amazing. Travel ban is still there, hence no travel. Salary is competitive but not industry leader.
Its been 9 years with this organisation, and every day was full of learning and opportunities. in this 9 years i have grown from Tech lead - Grade D to Senior Manager - Grade G. Best part of the organisation is its human values and the support they render to its employees
I have worked for 5 years and 4 Months with Standard Chartered bank.I have learned different products achieved several landmarks during the tenure. I have earned healthy incentives and my performance was acknowledged by seniors time to time.
The culture at Best Company is by far the greatest asset. You can tell that they truly care about the happiness of their employees. It's a really relaxed and calm environment, even though the work we do can be fast paced. I don't dread coming into work on Monday mornings and the managers are extremely patient and understanding.
