I am working with offshore practice of KPMG, which provides support to the KPMG team (onshore) based-out in another country. Onshore team is the team which actually deals with the client and offshore team get their tasks on daily basis from the onshore team. Offshore team is just a helping hand to onshore team. At most of the times offshore teams gets task which are more tedious and clerical in nature.
If you are newly qualified Chartered Accountant than you should never join offshore teams as your first job. You may have feeling that your degree is of no value and even a graduate can perform the task which i am doing here.
However, if you have prior experience of client facing practice and looking for more settled life, than this is the place, where you get good remuneration along with work-life balance.
No hectic routines, no travel, no late sitting, no pressure for tight deadlines are the advantages of joining offshore practice.
P.S - Be wise and choosy while joining these organisation if this is your first job.
