Delphix could be an amazing place to work. The ability to work remotely and the benefits are great (unlimited PTO, partial reimbursement for phone/internet, good health benefits), but, Dephix is struggling to find its footing in the marketplace and working on additional funding. The technology is fantastic, but it is still evolving which is often problematic in a customer environment. Delphix claims they are #OneTeam, but that doesn't translate equally across the board. Advancement opportunities are almost non-existent, particularly if you are not in a technical role. And they just laid off 15-20% of the company 2 weeks before the holidays. Severance was 2 weeks per year of service.

I'm on the marketing team but am looking for a new position. When I was interviewing, the topic was often culture, culture, culture
Treating people well and in a fair manner, etc.

What a joke!

Most of the execs are doing their best however there are a few rotten apples in the barrel...

Sales cycles are very long and patience is thin. Up until 2 months ago, this was a boy's club. Culture is "mini-CA" as all of the execs are from CA, they hired a bunch of people from CA and there is WAY too much politics for a company that is slightly above $100M in ARR.

Delphix has great technology in a space without a lot of competition. It's a complex sales but the deals are big and with widely known enterprise companies. Leadership is well aligned and cares about employees.

I was an intern on their infrastructure team. This is by the far the highest performing engineering organization I have ever seen. Everyone there is incredibly smart, and always willing to help and teach. Many engineers had worked at Google for nearly as long as I have been alive.
Pros
Well stocked kitchen with awesome drinks, high compensation, very casual friendly environment, I could work from home even as an intern
Cons
Really none that I can think of

Management is awful! My immediate manager always got in the way of doing anything productive but, never did anything to help me grow, extremely controversial and contradicting.

Top heavy company with a screwed up management. HR is so messed up, they've got no clue how to treat people. The new VP came over had an agenda to bring his own people. These people aren't watching out for the company, working for their own personal interests.
Pros
Good work place, socially and environmentally responsible.
Cons
Horrible management

The product has little demand in the marketplace. POVs are science experiments at larger shops. Hard to justify outside financial and silicone valley markets. And even those territory's struggle for new customer acquisition.

When I joined the company, they had great management and a welcoming culture. They are a very diversified company.

Recently, they brought in new management and started outsourcing jobs to India. Definitely not America First.

Delphix has some of the best technology that you can find. The people at Delphix are also top notch. Most everyone is willing to work with you and work together as a team.

There have been some changes in corporate direction that the company is working its way through.

Friendly and fun environment. The management works very hard and expects the same from employees.

Higher management is not the issue. Sometimes there is ambiguity to what they ask for. Your peers are awesome - whenever I had a question, there was an answer or an effort to figure it out.

The issue is middle management. They do not provide enough input for guidance in the right direction. Often the goals or requests are not very specific, nor are expectations.

It is a wonderful opportunity to learn about corporate culture as it is in a post-startup phase in its history.

Claims to want to further your development and that is true from your peers, not management.
Pros
Free lunches
Cons
ambiguous goals
