SENIOR MANAGER - OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE (Former Employee) –  Parsippany, NJMarch 2, 2019
The Leadership Team guides the business through a tough environment. Employees are given the opportunity to challenge themselves and learn. The Team is building a global stratagey in support of new technology challenges.

R&D QUALITY ENGINEER (Former Employee) –  Mishawaka, INFebruary 1, 2019
Great place to work for high achieving individuals who thrive on autonomy
Power distance factor is discouraging as upper echelon is never seen and rarely heard from amongst the ground to middle level.
Pros
autonomy
Cons
High power distance factor

Excellent Pay & Benefits; No career advancement
Manager (Former Employee) –  Mishawaka, INJanuary 11, 2019
Ascensia offers excellent pay and benefits, but lacks in offering positions which lead to career growth and advancement. The culture is friendly, but lacks a focus and knowledge about the industry. They seem to be going through the motions without making any progress growing the business or becoming more profitable.
Pros
Excellent pay and bonuses
Cons
No challenge for Go Getters. If you want to retire, but still get a paycheck this is the place for you.

Company is closed. They were planning to close when I accepted the position but failed to disclose that fact. So I stayed on until I found a suitable paying job.

manager (Current Employee) –  Parsippany, NJNovember 8, 2018
Entrepreneur spirit yes....vision and direction no. Serious lack of where they are going with lack of communication to employees. Shifts of people into new roles with no thought of what employee may want. Management does not communicate well with employees.
Pros
flexible
Cons
no communication or direction

Decent place to work, Good culture
Program Specialist (Current Employee) –  Valhalla, NYOctober 9, 2018
I like working at Ascensia. The new office in Valhalla is located off Columbus Ave. in the same complex as Pepsico.
There is plenty of work to be done daily, but the atmosphere is typically good. My commute has increased considerably since I started working there and I am considering a transfer to their Parsippany office. Pay and benefits are comparable to most large corporations. 401k is better than average, salary decent for the area. Intern program is very good with many being hired after graduating.
Pros
Culture
Cons
Commute

Medical Product Adviser (Former Employee) –  EdinburghOctober 6, 2018
It is okay for a few months but then the work is just too boring. Also the management of the accounts is very poorly done. They have american style initiatives to keep the people "happy" but when you complain about REAL problems in the workload or anything else, they really don't care. They just pretend to.

Global Packaging Services Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Parsippany, NJMay 11, 2018
It wasn't an organized place to work and I hear it has gone down hill. They placed folks in manager positions that had no business directing people. This falls true with the most of the company.
Pros
It was ok...nothing special
Cons
The management was terrible

Other (Former Employee) –  Parsippany, NJNovember 20, 2017
If you have a great manager and do barely satisfactory work, you'll be fine. If you do outstanding work but have a terrible manager, the quality and quantity of your work will matter not at all.

All people there are willing to step up and help each other. Ascensia is always looking to promote each of their employees. If you are wanting to better yourself they are willing to help pay for courses. They offer 401K.
