Not much fun at lower level
Production Associate (Former Employee) – Mohali, Punjab – July 31, 2018
AkzoNobel=Fun/Career/Promotion/Salary/Facilities, but only level above officers! But when you look at ground level, the ones who do actual job, toil in paint, resin, dust, chemicals, grease, risk accidents, sweat on the shop floor, stand continuously for hours! (the ants in Jungle analogy) there is no fun, not much salary (excuse cost to production/ company), less facilities as compared to elites (level above officers). Company reluctant to invest in modern production facilities/automation (at least when I was there). Workers remain under constant indirect psychological pressure for production targets (so that higher management get hefty incentives/bonuses), as there was favoritism for workers who willing to serve the management's greed, even at the cost of quality and those workers used to get favors from management in promotion/leaves/performance incentives (no wonder I used to see so many market complaints!). Forget to mention the company's obsession for candidates from tier-I institutions for higher and middle management role at hefty packages, whether or not those so called tire-I candidates are useful to company.
P.S. All these observations are up to year 2013 (till my association with the company). I don't know if the management practices changed later on..
