Job Summary

Ø Managed and supported 24x7 production databases as well as development databases to ensure maximum availability of database resource for various applications.
Ø He should perform the DBA related tasks in key areas of System Administration, Database Administration, Backup, Archive & Restore Management, Performance Management & Reporting
Ø Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, Strategies defined for backup/recovery techniques, and problem determination and resolution.

Ø Managing the Production/Development databases in the following areas
- Space Management
- Security Management
- User Management
- Backup and Recovery
- Performance Tuning
Desirable Skills :-
Some experience in an environment where BI tools such as Hyperion, Business Objects, SAS, and Microstrategy were an important part of the environment.

Skills & Attributes

Ø Working experience as an DBA in Teradata .
Ø Working experience as an DBA in Oracle/SQL Server/DB2.
Ø Should have worked in Unix platforms.
Ø Good presentation, communication skills.
Ø Good team player and ability to mentor small groups
Ø Should be able to lead a small team.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications

Ø Graduate or 3 year Diploma
Ø Minimum of 5 years of DBA experience
Ø Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language
Preferred Qualifications
{Manager Preferences, i.e. exp. w/comp., spec. industry}
Ø 4 Year Engineering Degree or 3 Year Masters of Computer Application.
Ø Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language
Ø Must be willing to provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis with the team.
