QCAs R&D centre in Chennai is focused on developing world-class devices for delivering services / apps to the retail / carrier customers. As a Technical Lead / Manager of BSP & Board Bring up, you will provide a breadth and depth of understanding the problems and provide solutions for them; you will also help in the cost/time impact during project execution and integration. A good deal of your work will be working with the architects, other Technical Lead / Managers and the team members to define solutions, come up with estimates, project plan and execute on committed projects. You should be able to seamlessly work with everyone in the team.
Responsibilities
~ Be hands-on and manage a team of software engineers responsible for delivering the BSP & Board bring up of a Linux based system, including task planning, design and code reviews
~ Hiring of engineers (full-time and contractors) required on the project (including screening of profiles, interviewing, recruiting and onboarding)
~ Scope the technical work given for the project working with the global marketing and architecture teams
~ Share knowledge with junior team members via a formal mentoring relationship & reviewing
~ Form strong cross-functional relationships to provide leadership to the project team
~ Advocate technical issues influentially with strong customer focus
Skills/Experience
- At least 10 years of relevant hands-on technical experience with a record of strong individual technical achievement
- At least 2 years of relevant experience leading projects of small to moderate size
- Ability to work in fuzzy environment
- Must have hands on experience in BSP / Board bring up / Linux Device Drivers / Boot Loader up for 5+ years
- Hands on working experience with atleast one boot loader (eg RedBoot) is a big plus
- Must have hands on experience working in the Linux kernel & Linux kernel device drivers
- Must have experience working with ARMs / MIPS processor
- Must have experience in networking (L2 switching, IP forwarding, routing, NAT, firewall etc)
- Strong programming skills in C in Linux with expert knowledge in multiple computer science disciplines
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Must be a go-getter and should be able to work in an aggressive, high pressure environment
- Experience working in networking components in the Linux kernel & App space is a plus
- Experience in home networking technologies and equipment (including CPEs and Wireless Access Points) is a plus
Education Requirements
BE/BTech/MTech in Computer Science preferred with proven success in a challenging academic program
