Job Description: Together with a team of highly talented and experienced developers, you will work on the development of the Nimbuzz applications for Android. Youll be engineering mobile applications that will help shape our mobile strategy currently used by millions of users on a daily basis. Depending on your experience, you will assume the role of lead or senior Android Developer. Through your experience, talent and interest, you are aware of all major developments of the latest relevant technologies in the mobile space and are capable of quickly mastering new technologies. You are capable of translating functional designs into working software, keeping the end-user s interests in mind Key Responsibilities Design and develop top of the line mobile applications and games for the Android and other mobile platforms (BlackBerry/J2ME). Tuning components for high performance and scalability using techniques such as caching, code optimization, and efficient memory management. Organize input and feedback from multiple stakeholders to improve usability and functionality. Contribute creativity and critical thinking to optimally implement new features. Understands technical and functional design requirements. Assists in enforcement of development deadlines and schedules with the ability to multi-task, prioritize work load, and meet these milestones.
Desired Candidate Profile Required Skills and Experience BTech/CS/MCA degree from a premiere institution with 4+ years of software product development experience. 2+ years developing cutting edge mobile Android applications and/or games. Strong object oriented design and development experience with Java and C++. Knowledge of Objective C and iPhone development is a major plus. Hands on experience in J2ME and the Android SDK, including custom UI and compatibility of screen and OS levels. Experience with multi-threading and memory management on mobile devices. Experience with other cross-platform mobile development is a plus (BlackBerry, iPhone, Symbian). Well versed with RDBMS with hands on experience in MySQL a pre Experience with XML and data manipulation/extraction using parsers. Strong debugging and trouble-shooting skills and prior experience with performance measurement tools. Experience in full life cycle software development including design, development, production, testing, roll out, maintenance and support. Ability to work independently in a fast paced startup environment with dynamically changing requirements. Outstanding communication and documentation skills, detail oriented and go-getting attitude.
