Job Level Details
- Studying new or existing production systems and modeling production behavior in the performance environment.
- Environment configuration and management responsibilities for the Performance Environment, including troubleshooting environment issues and validating environment configurations.
- Analyzing results, identifying solutions that may improve application performance or system capacity.
- Recommending tuning opportunities and proving concepts.
- Documenting and presenting results to project stakeholders .
- Negotiating performance issues/solutions/results with internal WF teams.
Job Description
- Create, review, enhance and maintain performance test scripts using LoadRunner
- Execute load, performance, and infrastructure tests using LoadRunner to ensure all development deliverables are production ready.
- Be responsible for reporting results and defects and assisting in the resolution of existing defects.
- Train new team members on P&I testing and QA methodology
- Author Performance test plans, and may serve as a coordinator
- Multi-task between releases and prioritize task for next release.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Performance testing issues.
- May research production issues.
- Troubleshoot environment related issues and follow up with infrastructure teams through resolution
- Communicates with the US team members regarding testing/automation issues
- Perform performance testing tasks concurrently on multiple projects.
- Recommend enhancements and participate in driving initiatives within the QA group
- May act as technical resource to other testers.
- Additional responsibilities as directed by either the QA Lead or Management
- Proven problem-solving capabilities and ability to work independently.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of stubbing or simulating end points and when to use.
- Experience working/configuring SAML, F5, Sun-One webservers
- Experience with testing both GUI and webservices.
- Strong Unix & Linux skills, ability to write shell scripts for information gathering purposes.
- Sound understanding of Java/JVM architecture, JVM tuning, GC, Class loading, Thread Dump Analysis, JMX based JVM monitoring (JConsole)
- Java hands-on programming (or some other language) for custom test data synthesis/manipulation
- Weblogic tuning & console monitoring of various server resources like DB connection pools, Threads, JMS queues/topics/modules/factories etc..
- Good familiarity of queuing principles of Websphere MQ
- Good understanding of Oracle Architecture. SQL, PL/SQL, Performance Stats, SQL tuning, Explain plan, Tracing tools, Hints, Fragmentation, Partitions, familiarity with at least one Oracle tool like TOAD
- Good understanding of Oracle Replication technologies – Streams, RAC
- Conceptual understanding of Oracle backups – Export, Data Pump, RMAN
- Familiarity with information security
- encryptions, SSL/ TSL etc.
- Good understanding of Load Balancers like F5 – LB methods, Virtual servers, Virtual Pools, Rules, Connection & Cookie persistence.
- Familiarity of storage systems & principles
- Logical Drives & Volumes, SAN, NAS, RAID - striping, mirroring, parity
