Progressive, cutting edge work environment
Fraud Representative (Former Employee), Draper, UT –
A typical work day was spent keeping fraud off the eBay and Paypal platform and finding new and creative ways to combat fraud. I learned to be a forward thinker in fraud detection and how to find fraud through a large data sets and ever changing information.

Fun place with great people
Customer Service Fraud Department (Former Employee), Draper UT, 84020 –
Pros: great pay, awesome benefits, wonderful people to work with
Cons: worked all holidays, unable to attend school, limited promotions
I worked in a friendly place, was happy to go to work because of the people I got to spend time with and the people I got to call around the world. It was relaxed most of the time, we dressed down or in normal everyday clothes. Left the company with a 97% hit rate for correct actions on accounts.

Have you worked with big banks or card schemes? You don't know what bureaucratic and slow means until you have worked with them.

A Self Rewarding Place To Work
eBay Store Manager (Current Employee), West Jefferson, NC –
Pros: flexible hours
Cons: long hours
A typical is busy buying, listing, selling, and shipping items.

I have learned the "market" for various items.

The hardest part of the job is doing the photography of the items you are selling...it can be quite tedious.

The most enjoyable part of the job is getting positive feedback from satisfied customers. It can really make you feel good that – more...  people are happy with what you did for them. – less

Running your own business takes a lot of dedication and discipline. This is something I still enjoy.
Entrepreneur (Current Employee), Piscataway, NJ –
Pros: at home job
Cons: a lot of learning.
Working from my laptop at home is great. I have time for myself, and have no boss to report to. I am responsible for all inventory checks, shipment of products, and payments. I learned that it takes a lot of dedication and discipline in order to run your own business. The hardest part of the job is to keep up with the fast pace in orders I am receiving – more...  and processing them in a timely manner. I enjoyed everything about Ebay. – less

Great Supplementary Income
SALES (Current Employee), New Jersey to Worldwide –
Pros: anytime and limitless transacting
Cons: limited to online
Sell what you want, when you want, as much as you want. Great part time activity for some and full time for others. Other than the monthly fees, your in charge.
The ebay organization and community is courteous and professional. Ebay promptly responds to questions and issues.
I enjoy the work and daily transactions whether I buy or sell.

Great Place to Work
Receiver (Former Employee), Shepherdsville, KY –
Pros: good benefits, nice incentives, plenty of sick time
Cons: super long hours during winter peak season, 60 plus hours a week.
Management is awesome, you actually feel like a human and not a robot! they come around and ask if you're ok. During peak season it's typical to work in other depts for a couple of hours which is a nice break from whatever you're doing. Repetitive movements makes your joints hurt after a while also u have no life because u are working really hard to – more...  make production goals and too tired to do anything after a 10 hour shift. Really, it's a cool place to work, the pay isn't bad and room for advancement. – less

Good seasonal work
Sr. Manager, Customer Service (Former Employee), Brunswick, GA –
GSI Commerce was recently purchased by eBay. As such, there is a lot of change occurring within the organization at all levels of the enterprise. Supervisors and Managers, unfortunately, receive very little training but are hired mainly internally. Management is generally expected to work from early morning to late evening with Blackberrys and laptops – more...  that are taken home daily. Work/Life balance is poor because of this, but the job is ideal for anyone that is extremely passionate about their work. – less

eBay is what you make of it!
Seller (Current Employee), Shakopee, Minnesota –
Pros: great income potential, and great sales systems that make it very easy
Cons: some fees associated with selling can add up, income potential limited for aggressive sellers
eBay has been a great business venture for me, I started it early last year, and have had great success selling men's apparel. You have alot of flexibility with your schedule (obviously), as well as a unique and very well structured systems in place to build your business, and your potential to make money is very good, if you willing to work for it. – more...  There are some limits set in place, and some of the terms for there fee system are a bit unsettling, overall it has been great working for them! – less

This is the kind of place to make a career!
Talent Acquisition Recruiter (Current Employee), Draper, UT –
Pros: free soda, great benefits, really positive atmosphere
Cons: contractor roles
eBay is a great place to work, just make sure you get in as a full employee, not a contractor. As a contractor you dont get all the amazing benefits and career growth is difficult. But as a full employee, it is an outstanding company and one of the ones that you really would want to work for.
