A typical work day was spent keeping fraud off the eBay and Paypal platform and finding new and creative ways to combat fraud. I learned to be a forward thinker in fraud detection and how to find fraud through a large data sets and ever changing information.

Great easy and fun.. Pack and ship!! There are no co workers for me. I post and sell and then ship.. easy!!

I worked in a friendly place, was happy to go to work because of the people I got to spend time with and the people I got to call around the world. It was relaxed most of the time, we dressed down or in normal everyday clothes. Left the company with a 97% hit rate for correct actions on accounts.

good for someone who likes working at big companies

Its a fun place overall. People are g ood but progress is slow

Stats mean more than quality. My advice if ya work there, Dont care about the peoples problems just get them off the phone

I loved going to work every day knowing my job title and was able to do what i needed to do clock out and go home. If you have ever used eBay you would know what a wonderful site it was, and working for the company was awesome...

Working from my laptop at home is great. I have time for myself, and have no boss to report to. I am responsible for all inventory checks, shipment of products, and payments. I learned that it takes a lot of dedication and discipline in order to run your own business. Sell what you want, when you want, as much as you want. Great part time activity for some and full time for others. Other than the monthly fees, your in charge.
The ebay organization and community is courteous and professional. Ebay promptly responds to questions and issues.
I enjoy the work and daily transactions whether I buy or sell.

This is a non friendly environment. Numbers only, Not about the customer.

Management is awesome, you actually feel like a human and not a robot! they come around and ask if you're ok. During peak season it's typical to work in other depts for a couple of hours which is a nice break from whatever you're doing. GSI Commerce was recently purchased by eBay. As such, there is a lot of change occurring within the organization at all levels of the enterprise. Supervisors and Managers, unfortunately, receive very little training but are hired mainly internally. Management is generally expected to work from early morning to late evening with Blackberrys and laptops – more...  that are taken home daily. Work/Life balance is poor because of this, but the job is ideal for anyone that is extremely passionate about their work. – less

It is easy to research pricing, items, and quality, as well as buyers and sellers.

eBay has been a great business venture for me, I started it early last year, and have had great success selling men's apparel. You have alot of flexibility with your schedule (obviously), as well as a unique and very well structured systems in place to build your business, and your potential to make money is very good, if you willing to work for it. – more...  There are some limits set in place, and some of the terms for there fee system are a bit unsettling, overall it has been great working for them! – less

eBay is a great place to work, just make sure you get in as a full employee, not a contractor. As a contractor you dont get all the amazing benefits and career growth is difficult. But as a full employee, it is an outstanding company and one of the ones that you really would want to work for.
